Which Model Should I Buy?
Great question! We offer a variety of models suitable for children aged 6 months to 7 years:
- SF1 – Designed for little ones who crave fun and freedom. It’s the perfect way to introduce your child to cycling. (Ages 6 months–5 years)
- S – A lightweight aluminum frame paired with a rocker fork. Ideal for aspiring racers and performance enthusiasts. (Ages 6 months–5 years)
- R – Built for speed with an ultra-rugged frame weighing just 2.6 kg. Its low-drag, low-center-of-gravity design lets kids enjoy smooth rides at thrilling speeds. (Ages 2–6 years)
- A – Crafted from Toray T800 high-modulus carbon fiber using an integrated hollow molding technique. The frame weighs under 500g but offers 20x the strength of aluminum. With jet fighter-inspired rear forks, an aerodynamic design, and precision engineering, this bike redefines the power of a kid’s bike. (Ages 3–7 years)
My Child Is Under 2 Years Old. Can They Ride a bike8?
Absolutely! If your child can confidently walk, they can ride a bike8. Our patented design, featuring a low saddle height, low center of gravity, and lightweight frame, ensures even the smallest riders can succeed with ease.
There Are No Pedals! How Will My Child Start and Stop?
Your child will place their feet on the ground and push, just like Retu Kivinen. This method helps strengthen their legs more effectively than short cranks on a pedal bike. In fact, with a bike8, kids can go faster than on traditional bikes and handle uneven terrains or slopes more confidently.Stopping is just as simple—they place their feet back on the ground. For advanced riders, we offer optional foot brakes, which are better suited for children around 3–4 years old. Our philosophy for younger riders is to keep it simple, making success easier to achieve.
How High Should the Saddle Be?
The correct saddle height allows the child to sit with their feet flat on the ground and their knees slightly bent. If your child likes riding long distances on flat surfaces, you can raise the saddle slightly. For obstacle courses, tricks, or off-road adventures, the saddle should be lower to keep their knees slightly bent.
Which Model Do You Recommend for a First Balance Bike?
We highly recommend the bike8 SF1 as a first balance bike. Its high-strength nylon fiberglass frame achieves the perfect balance of weight and durability, while the SUPERGEL suspension system ensures smooth and easy riding on all kinds of terrain.
